Washington, D.C.
National Cherry Blossom Festival
Celebrate the start of spring by witnessing the glorious display of cherry blossoms during Washington DC’s spectacular “Cherry Blossom Festival”. Beginning March 27th, the center of US politics and the “seat of the free world” celebrates the explosion of colour.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival® annually commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, honoring the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and celebrating the continued close relationship between the two countries. The two week festival
showcases a diverse activity schedule during the trees’ blooming. For more information on the festival itself, visit the official website at www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org.
Join us this April as we visit this iconic city. Aside from the festival activities, the
nation's capital offers many diverse activities, arts and culture, fine museums and more than 200 years of American
history.
